Individuals express their fondness for supermarket giants such as Aldi andTrader Joe's, yet trying to take awaymy Costco membership would be akin to prying itfrom my lifeless fingers. I have an immense lovefor Costco. I make visits thereat least biweekly,if not weekly. stock my pantry With predominantly Costco items inside. Take a look in my refrigerator and you'll see that the majority are from Costco. my cheese If short on time, I depend on the frozen foods Those are always essentials on my Costco shopping list to quickly prepare dinners.

Many of the items I purchase at Costco are their house brand, Kirkland Signature, such as olive oil, nuts, feta cheese, and even my daughter’s preferred leggings. However, there are numerous Kirkland-branded products that I simply ignore as I stroll through the store.

During my recent journey, I opted to test out five new Kirkland Signature items. Out of those, four turned out so well that they now have a constant place at my residence.

Five-Cheese Tortelloni with Parmesan Reggiano

I have already expressed my admiration for my affection towards the pumpkins and bats ravioli Purchased at Costco close to Halloween, I intended to buy enough to enjoy until deep into winter. However, after trying the Five-Cheese Tortelloni with Parmigiano Reggiano, they became an instant hit as my go-to choice for filled pasta. These tortelloni are richly cheese-filled and wonderfully creamy; plus, they cook quickly. My family has relished them tossed in sauce (Rao’s from Costco naturally), and also simmered gently in broth alongside diced vegetables—a delightful meal either way. Additionally, I have begun using part of each pack to create tortelloni salads packed in our child’s school lunches. Keep your eyes peeled for these in the refrigerator aisle.

Everything Bagel Seasoned Cod

Although I usually purchase frozen fish from Costco, I've never tried their seasoned or breaded varieties before. While I find everything bagel seasoning acceptable, I didn't share the enthusiasm many others expressed a couple of years back during its height of popularity. Nevertheless, the Everything Bagel Seasoned Cod caught my interest. After trying it once, I'll keep it stocked in my freezer as long as it remains an option. I prepared it using my toaster oven air fryer From the freezer, it emerged crispy and delightful in under 15 minutes. We enjoyed it alongside roasted potatoes and a salad, but I'm eagerly anticipating transforming the fillets into fish sandwiches.

lightly breaded chicken breast pieces

Although I have a child, chicken nuggets weren't something commonly found in our kitchen (that changed recently; let me explain). We might occasionally pick some up when dining out, but they rarely appeared at home. However, after a nearby fast-food joint started offering a salad topped with chicken nuggets, I decided to recreate this meal at home. Since then, it has become one of our monthly dinners. From now on, I’ll rely primarily on these lightly breaded chicken breast pieces from Costco. Made using boneless, skinless chicken breasts, they turn out wonderfully crisp when cooked.

Supreme Cauliflower Crust Pizza

I have plenty of experience with cauliflower-crust pizzas since my spouse followed a gluten-free diet for many years. His go-to brand was Milton’s Roasted Vegetable Cauliflower Crust pizza, which you can find at Costco. We liked it so much that we continue to purchase it regularly. Recently, I tried the Kirkland Signature Supreme Cauliflower Crust Pizza and found it equally delightful. This pizza boasts an ample serving of vegetables such as bell peppers, zucchini, and mushrooms, along with toppings like sausage and pepperoni. The flavor profile was richly savory, and the crust had the robust texture typical of conventional pizza bases. Typically, I serve it alongside a light salad or some raw vegetable sticks paired with ranch dressing. A quarter of one pie contains around 900 milligrams of sodium; however, considering we indulge in this treat about once or twice monthly, we balance out the overall sodium intake from other meals during those weeks.

The Bottom Line

Testing out a new item from Costco might seem daunting because they typically don’t offer samples in tiny amounts. However, it could definitely pay off, particularly when you discover something that all members of your family love.
