The State Minister of Finance Semereta Sewasew, representing the Ethiopian Ministry of Finance, cordially greeted the visiting Finnish delegation. She highlights that Finnish businesses have a strong interest in increasing their footprint within Ethiopia’s digital infrastructure, with Finland looking into ways to boost investments via guarantee mechanisms.
Being the globe's top coffee-consuming nation, Finland has expressed concerns regarding how the EU's new deforestation law might affect Ethiopia's coffee exports.
Each country is involved in talks focused on identifying resolutions, possibly utilizing the current framework for harbor accreditation. The delegates from both sides acknowledged the challenges encountered by small-scale agricultural producers in adhering to the certification standards.
