
On March 20, 2025, ENA reported from Addis Ababa that an Ethiopian delegation is attending the BRICS Senior Energy Officials conference currently taking place in Brasilia, Brazil.
At the gathering, Ethiopia’s ambassador to Brazil, Ambassador Leulseged Tadese, emphasized the significance of bolstering collaboration within the BRICS framework to improve energy security and efficiency, aiming for a more sustainable and thriving future for our world.
He highlighted that obtaining accessible, dependable, sustainable, and contemporary energy is essential for achieving the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
He detailed the energy programs that Ethiopia's administration has undertaken as part of their national plans and strategies, which include the nation's Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy.
He highlighted Ethiopia's ongoing efforts to secure and maintain clean and renewable energy sources, expand energy infrastructure to address the nation's power needs, and foster regional collaboration and integration.
The ambassador additionally urged for tangible steps including the exchange of best practices and experiences along with technology transfers to bolster energy collaboration within the BRICS framework.
