Ohio's Top Commit Chris Henry Jr. Makes Surprise Oregon Visit

Chris Henry Jr., ranked as ESPN’s number one prospect for the class of 2026 in football, and No. 7 in the USA TODAY High School Sports rankings , has been committed to Ohio State since July 2023.

It seems the Buckeyes will still need to put up a strong effort to secure his commitment for next spring.

Last week, Henry, a towering 6-foot-6 wide receiver hailing from Mater Dei High School located in Santa Ana, California, paid a visit to the University of Oregon. This trip was highlighted through the university’s official social media channels.

He isn’t making just one trip during this spring and summer season; his travel plans include stops at several prestigious institutions. His itinerary includes an official visit to Miami on May 30th, followed by another to USC on June 6th. Additionally, he will return to Oregon on June 13th and make yet another stop at Ohio State on June 20th.

This was quite an early pledge from Henry Jr., made even before he started as a sophomore in high school. Despite this, the speedy athlete remains highly sought after, and it appears that the recruitment competition may only now be intensifying.
