On Thursday, March 20, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who leads the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF), reached Kigali. Upon his arrival at Kigali International Airport, he was greeted by General Mubarakh Muganga, the Chief of Staff for the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF).

In addition, reports indicate that the Ugandan military leadership asserts their interactions with Rwanda are built upon mutual confidence. Notably, this isn’t General Kainerugaba’s first visit; back in August 2024, both generals explored avenues to strengthen collaboration between their respective national armies during previous talks.
