During an interview with ANI, she discussed her collaboration with John, stating, "Collaborating with him was truly delightful. Not only is he an exceptional performer, but also a wonderful person overall. I've long held great admiration for him. Working alongside him was quite pleasant."
Directed by Shivam Nair , ' The Diplomat ' stars John Abraham as the main character, JP Singh, who is a talented diplomat handling a critical assignment. This movie is a gripping political suspense story that underscores the significance of diplomacy and smart strategy rather than resorting to aggression and conflict.
Regarding her experience working on the film, she remarked, “It was a truly inspirational process. After going through the auditions, I began delving into the material... acting in this production posed significant hurdles for me yet also presented a substantial opportunity. Being chosen so early in my career filled me with joy. Upon securing the role, I did not dwell on potential difficulties; instead, I felt immense appreciation for receiving such a valuable chance since, as an actor, one yearns to take on demanding and substantive parts and explore innovative and artistic avenues.”
Previously, Abraham revealed what attracted him to the movie, calling it an "emotionally charged, nail-biting psychological thriller" instead of merely another patriotic narrative.
He stated, "My involvement wasn't solely due to its patriotism; I was drawn to it because of its emotionally charged and suspenseful psychological aspects."
Compared to the movie Argo, the actor commented, "'This feels similar to watching a film titled Argo. If you see that movie, it’s based on real events involving the US Embassy in Iran and their mission to evacuate individuals safely. Once you start watching, you won’t want to look away—you’ll find yourself completely engrossed.' This immersive experience reminded me of what I felt." The Diplomat ."
John additionally pointed out that the movie doesn't follow the usual India-Pakistan narrative and urged viewers to watch it through a "compassionate lens."
"This isn’t your usual Bollywood movie between India and Pakistan. Watch it with a focus on human compassion,” he said.
Expanding on the narrative, Director Nair stated, “This movie draws inspiration from an actual event. The plot revolves around Uzma, a lady hailing from Delhi, who travels to Malaysia seeking employment opportunities but finds herself entangled with someone from Pakistan and ultimately ends up stranded there. That’s what our film delves into.”
