As a native Floridian , one might say I grew up surrounded by Publix. During my infancy, my mother wheeled me through every aisle with my feet dangling out of the shopping cart. In childhood, I learned to politely say ‘thank you’ whenever I received my complimentary cookie at the bakery section and would step onto the large green scale near the front door weekly for weigh-ins. By the time I became a teenager, I had started purchasing items on my own. Pub Subs My buddies and I brought them to the seaside. Following my graduation, I relocated further north, but whenever I returned for visits, Publix was typically among the first places I'd stop by. Unlike the bustling large-city supermarkets where I shopped regularly then, Publix stood out as a serene, well-lit, abundantly supplied haven.
A long time afterward, when I became an adult, I relocated to the southern part of Alabama. My initial drive in a rented vehicle was to Publix, which gave me a sense of returning home. While everything else around me seemed alien, stepping into the store made me feel instantly at ease. Later on, I found myself wheeling my infant son through the aisles in one of their carts, heading towards the spot where he could enjoy his complimentary cookie.
This all boils down to me being quite knowledgeable about Publix items. It continues to be my go-to grocery store, not only due to nostalgic feelings, but also because of the welcoming staff and high-quality goods, including numerous private-label products. I am not alone in feeling this way. Here are several items that regularly end up in my shopping cart and I hope will continue to do so for many weeks to come.

Every week, I purchase a loaf of bread from the local bakery as well. My top pick is the Publix Mountain Loaf available in either white or whole wheat varieties. One thing I appreciate about this bakery is their willingness to slice the bread upon request; they even let you specify your preferred thickness for each slice.
Pizza Dough
At our place, we consume plenty of pizzas thanks to this dough, found in the bakery section as well. When possible, I opt for the pre-rolled variety, similar to what’s shown here. Simply allow the dough to reach room temperature before unfolding it directly onto a (already heated) baking tray. Then just add your toppings. toppings , and dinner's done.

Fried Chicken
If you've tried Publix’s renowned fried chicken, I doubt you’d require my input on its deliciousness. (Personally, I suspect the key might be celery salt, though this is merely conjecture.) My boy absolutely adores their crispy chicken tenders, with an exterior that boasts both crunch and rugged texture.
Dried Mango
If this dried mango fails to make it back home, we're facing an actual emergency here. Over the years, we’ve consumed countless bags of this product, despite its inconsistent availability (hey Publix executives, take notice). It’s definitely worthwhile to track down and purchase whenever possible. In contrast with many other prepackaged dried mango slices that tend to be either excessively sugary or overly tart, these maintain the perfect balance without any additional sugar.

Ice Cream
I really value Publix’s consistent dedication to offering seasonal ice cream varieties. They manage to release new flavors throughout the entire year! In contrast, many other companies create exclusive editions that appear mostly aimed at catching people's eyes and making news headlines. However, Publix produces ice creams with flavors that genuinely appeal to me.
Frozen Plantains
This Cuban Black Bean and Rice Dish It’s my default choice when I lack the mental energy to decide what to cook for dinner. We enjoy it frequently, yet it never gets boring. (Looks like readers agree with me too!) While the recipe suggests baking raw plantains in the oven, I usually bypass this step and zap the frozen ones in the microwave instead, making the entire meal quick and easy to prepare.
Canned Chickpeas
What limitations might a chickpea have? I incorporate these legumes into numerous dishes, with Publix being my preferred choice. In contrast to other canned varieties, theirs tend to be consistently sized without any discolored pieces mixed in.
Mini Muffins
I've often relied on mini muffins from Publix bakery to save the day, especially during classroom parties, where everything needs to be individually portioned for sharing. They’ve also come in handy at brunches when I lacked the time to bake from scratch. muffins from scratch The taste of blueberry and banana-nut flavors are equally delightful.
Milk
For years, Publix GreenWise milk has been my top choice. It consistently remains fresh and rivals other organic milks in taste, sometimes even surpassing them. Additionally, I appreciate that they offer a lactose-free version.

Pub Subs
Why wouldn't I include the Pub Sub Although I don't purchase one weekly, it has proven itself as a reliable choice for lunches and a lifesaver on those nights when I absolutely do not want to cook anymore.
