New Delhi [India], March 20 (ANI): Congress leader KC Venugopal On Thursday, they assaulted the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ), stating that the governing party "is itself causing disruptions in Parliament" and "avoiding discussions about critical ministries."
He said the BJP needs to address the "growing economic downturn and rising social unrest."
"The BJP Venugopal stated on X that the government’s approach to undermining parliamentary democracy is straightforward—select a trivial matter and employ it as grounds for suspending debates. He added that currently, it is the ruling party that is causing disruptions in Parliament rather than addressing critical ministry issues.
Acting as a conscientious opposition, we have consistently opted for dialogue rather than disruption numerous times. However, the government seems hesitant to address tough queries regarding their shortcomings and engage in conversations concerning crucial ministries. BJP Must address the escalating economic crisis, rising social tensions, and the breakdown of the welfare system – running away from these issues is not an option,” he emphasized.
The two chambers of Parliament observed adjournment On Thursday, protests erupted as DMK and other opposition members demonstrated against their unresolved demands.
The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha both concluded their sessions early for the day without conducting significant business.
The Lok Sabha was suspended until 12 noon, then at 2 pm, and eventually for the remainder of the day; similarly, the Rajya Sabha was recessed until 12 noon, again at 12:15 pm, followed by 2 pm, and ultimately for the rest of the session. Members from the DMK party staged protests in both chambers regarding their apprehensions about the government’s planned redistricting efforts. (ANI)
