Driver Hospitalized Following I-80 Crash in Sacramento County

A motorist was transported to the hospital after an accident that obstructed several eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 in Sacramento County on Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Around 2:50 p.m., a collision took place between Antelope Road and Greenback Lane. According to the CHP, a man in his sixties lost control of his vehicle as he tried to steer clear of slowing traffic ahead, causing him to collide with the median divider.

The driver subsequently reversed into traffic lanes, collided with another car, and rolled over.

A Caltrans surveillance camera in the region revealed traffic jammed across every lane. According to CHP traffic records, the accident resulted in five left lanes being obstructed on the eastbound I-80 around 3:02 p.m.

The motorist was transported to the hospital with slight injuries. The lanes have been reopened since then.
