HCMC Greets First Charter Flight From Iran: An International Welcome

Up to 200 Iranian tourists landed in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday via the inaugural chartered flight from the Middle East nation to Vietnam, signifying a significant step forward in their mutual tourism collaboration.

They plan to explore the southern, central, and northern areas of Vietnam before wrapping up their trip on March 28.

Officials from the city’s tourism department mentioned that choosing Vietnam as a travel destination during Nowruz, Iran's traditional new year festivity, highlights the nation’s increasing attractiveness.

Their schedule highlights Vietnam’s profound cultural and historic sites such as the Cu Chi Tunnels, Ben Thanh Market, War Remnants Museum, Saigon Central Post Office, Ba Na Hills, Hoi An Ancient Town, One-Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, and Hoan Kiem Lake.

During their 10-day and 9-night trip through Vietnam, they will be accommodated at esteemed hotels such as New World Saigon, Equatorial Ho Chi Minh City, Four Points by Sheraton Da Nang, and Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi.

A spokesperson from the city’s Tourism Department stated that this chartered flight marked an important milestone in Vietnam's initiatives to revitalize global travel.

Expanding into the Middle Eastern market not only diversifies the country's tourist sources but also creates opportunities to develop premium tourism products, improve service quality, and strengthen Vietnam's position on the global tourism map.

In the future, the department intends to work closely with industry allies to create attractive tourism offerings designed for the preferences of global travelers. Additionally, they aim to boost promotional efforts to draw larger tourist groups into the nation.

The second group of 200 Iranian tourists is scheduled to arrive in Hanoi on March 28. They will explore Vietnam's outstanding tourism sites in the northern, central, and southern regions until April 5.
