Investment Deal with Sunrise Aims to Create 8,500 Jobs - Government Announces

Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch stated that the initiatives stemming from the investment accord signed on Thursday in Rabat with the prominent Chinese textiles company Sunrise Group will generate approximately 8,500 employment opportunities, both directly and indirectly, in Fez and Skhirat.

Following the signing ceremony for an accord between Morocco and Sunrise, Akhannouch addressed the media. He emphasized that due to the visionary guidance of King Mohammed VI of Morocco and President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China, the bilateral ties between Morocco and China remain robust and strategic. This strong relationship is now manifesting itself with this substantial new investment.

This accord, valued at 2.3 billion dirhams, will foster various investments in the textile, yarn, fabric, and clothing industries via the creation of two manufacturing facilities in Skhirat and Fez. He emphasized this point, further noting that these initiatives underscore Morocco’s appeal as a hub for business ventures.

Akhannouch additionally stressed that the investment from the Chinese group will positively influence the advancement of readily accessible goods in Morocco, notably within the sectors of yarn and textiles.

He highlighted that this new facility will similarly aid in bolstering and advancing the textile industry within the kingdom.
