Ex-Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones He has formally declared his retirement from professional football. Drafted out of Alabama, Jones enjoyed a remarkable tenure with the Atlanta Falcons over nine seasons prior to moving on to brief spells with the Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Philadelphia Eagles each lasting just one year. Throughout his 166-game NFL career, Jones amassed 914 catches for 13,703 yards along with scoring 66 touchdowns. At age 35, he boasts the distinction of owning the third-highest single-season receiving yardage record ever and stands at number 16 on the all-time list for cumulative receiving yards. On the gridiron, Jones presented a formidable challenge due to his exceptional combination of height, swiftness, and power, which made him difficult to defend against for opposing cornerbacks. Selected sixth overall in the 2011 draft, Jones’s contributions strongly position him as a strong candidate for enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
