Even with the postponement in assigning ambassadors, Nigeria's overseas missions continue to operate efficiently.

We have immigration personnel stationed there, along with defense forces and various military officers. Additionally, there are several other individuals present.

The Minister likewise tackled issues surrounding Chinese visas, mentioning that Nigeria is not working together with Chinese officials to apprehend people.

He blamed the problem on Chinese citizens who moved around during the COVID-19 pandemic without appropriate paperwork.

Regarding national security, Tuggar emphasized Nigeria's advancements in fighting against Boko Haram. "The group has been significantly weakened," he stated, pointing to the creation of a secure zone in Borno where alleged extremists are being assessed, rehabilitated, prosecuted, or relocated.

He highlighted the significance of acknowledging Nigeria’s accomplishments and gaining insights from its experiences.

“The delayed nomination of ambassadors is what it is. It is the nature of governance and politics. You work with the circumstances you find yourself. I want to assure you that in the near future, names of the nominated ambassadors will be forwarded to the Senate. It is something that is concluded.

"We currently have mission officers overseeing our embassies. These include officials from immigration, defense, and the military, among others. The absence of appointed ambassadors does not halt these operations; we continue to function effectively," he stated.

Furthermore, the minister addressed the matter concerning the evacuation of infants from Gaza.

He stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, collaborated with the Red Cross to manage the situation.

Tuggar observed that the Red Cross reached out to the ministry seeking help in moving at-risk babies from Gaza to medical facilities in nations such as Jordan, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates.

"We employed our diplomatic resources and efforts to reach out to the governments of Jordan, the UAE, and Egypt, emphasizing the importance for these countries to accept these children," he stated.
