Rod N' Reel Pier Restaurant Finds Temporary Home After Milton Destruction

Families throughout Manatee County were heartbroken when the cherished Rod N' Reel Pier restaurant on Anna Maria Island was engulfed by the Gulf of Mexico amid the lashing gusts of Hurricane Milton.

Currently, as the eatery aims to reconstruct, locals have the chance to enjoy their beloved meals at a pop-up venue.

Owner Oliver Lemke recently announced that Rod N' Reel would briefly take over Old Hamburg Schnitzelhaus storefront On eBay Drive in Holmes Beach.

In this way, you can relish our excellent cuisine, beverages, and warm hospitality as we reconstruct the pier," Lemke stated in a video. "We appreciate your ongoing backing.

The Rod N' Reel Pier has been a cornerstone of the community since 1947. Following last year's storms, only remnants of the fishing pier leading to the eatery remain intact.

Lemke launched a GoFundMe page To assist in raising funds for reconstructing the restaurant, they have so far collected over $95,000 out of their $300,000 target.

"The mission here goes beyond reconstructing a restaurant; it’s about reviving a part of the island’s essence and assisting our staff of more than 40 members as they regain stability," states the GoFundMe page.

Anyone who contributes $100 or greater will see their name inscribed on a dedicated honor wall at the pier, as stated on the fundraising website.
