Saranac Student Triumphs in Mayor's Cup Logo Contest

The mayor of Plattsburgh, Wendell Hughes, revealed the victor in this year’s Mayor's Cup logo competition, where high schooler Chelsea Corbel from the Saranac School District secured first place.

The Sunrise Rotary collaborated with CV-TEC for the event, challenging students to create a logo for the beloved local custom. Today marked the presentation of their creations, followed by the announcement of the shortlisted participants and victors.

Mayor Hughes expressed his admiration for Corbel's design, stating, "I absolutely adore the design. When I asked her about it, she mentioned that she simply dove right into it, which is truly impressive. It’s not only stunning but also personal because this will be my first new show. Everything feels fresh and incredible."

The final contenders were as follows:

  • Chelsea Corbel - Saranac Central School (Victor)
  • Kayden Fisher attends Beekmantown Central School
  • Isaac Hernandez - Keene Central School
  • Troy Baker - Willsboro Central School
  • Kaleb Reandeau - Plattsburgh Municipal School System

The 48th yearly Mayor's Cup event will take place on Saturday, July 12.
