Dehradun ( Uttarakhand ) [India], March 20 (ANI): The Uttarakhand The government has stepped up efforts against food adulteration and initiated a cleanliness drive along the Char Dham Yatra routes to guarantee hygienic, secure, and premium quality meals for both pilgrims and the general populace, as stated. He mentioned that the state government has formulated a specific strategy to ensure food security during the Char Dham Yatra and at various tourist destinations. Food safety officials have been permanently stationed in regions such as Haridwar, Nainital, Dehradun, Tehri, and Udham Singh Nagar. Extra personnel will also be brought in from other areas including Uttarakshi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and Pithoragarh.

He added that hotels, eateries, restaurants, confectioners, and street-food vendors along travel routes and key pilgrimage destinations will undergo regular inspections. Mobile testing laboratories will deploy food-safety squads on highways and main travel paths. Rajesh Kumar emphasized that under no conditions would substandard or contaminated foods be provided to travelers. Violators of these food-safety regulations will face stringent measures.

Items such as dairy products, condiments, oils, flours, maida, confectionery, beverages, and packaged foods will undergo testing at the lab. Should contamination be detected, appropriate legal measures will be enforced accordingly.
