Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reiterated his warning about avoiding any deal concerning Ukraine that excludes Ukraine itself, as relations between Washington and Moscow grow stronger.
Regarding Vladimir Putin's efforts to discuss the conflict in Ukraine alongside a wider array of topics, including matters in the Middle East, Volodymyr Zelensky commented: A more extensive array of subjects should be addressed to keep Ukraine largely out of these discussions. Certainly, both sides have numerous points they could cover, which makes sense. After all, the U.S. is an autonomous nation... so they can engage in various talks. In my view, such dialogues likely revolve around their mutual relationship; however, these inevitably influence our circumstances too—especially concerning the conflict in Ukraine. Therefore, I would prefer not to... I’ve been very open about this with the Americans. Respectfully speaking, without intending to upset anyone, I wish we weren’t part of Putin’s ‘agenda’. You get what I mean? To him, we’re neither a light dish like a salad nor something sweet like a compote, regardless of how hungry he might feel. Volodymyr Zelensky stressed.
Volodymyr Zelensky additionally stressed that Ukraine maintains its status as an independent nation.
" It isn't ideal to conduct negotiations without our involvement as the preferred result won't be attained, he stressed.
