Tesla Recall: 46,000 Cybertrucks Issue With Flying Trim Pieces

An adhesive prone to becoming brittle due to environmental factors is causing body parts to come unstuck and detach.

The Tesla Cybertruck is reportedly impervious to bullets, yet adhesive is behind its newest issue.

Between November 2023 and this past February, Tesla has produced 46,096 Cybertrucks almost entirely, which now face recall due to an adhesive problem. This issue causes parts of the metal trim to detach while driving.

Although numerous Tesla models have undergone "recall" corrections via wireless software updates, this particular issue requires a physical fix. Car owners will receive a notification by mail regarding the recall and must arrange an appointment at their nearest service center for the necessary repairs.

Tesla also pointed out that when the recall was filed, "the problem had not yet been resolved in new productions," although they anticipate it will be addressed within the next few days. Therefore, Cybertrucks sold after late March should not experience this particular issue.

This isn't the first recall due to problems with the Cybertruck’s body panels. Last summer, Over 11,000 Cybertrucks have been recalled. For an analogous issue involving adhesive materials that led to other trim components detaching during travel.

The Cybertruck has had eight recalls Since its release in late 2023.
