Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), India, March 20: The Par 3 Masters tournament, the inaugural event of its kind, Pitch and Putt A golf tournament in Jammu & Kashmir left a lasting impression as it came to a successful close at the Jammu Tawi Golf Club On March 9, 2025, the tournament took place on a beautifully sunny day alongside the picturesque shores of the River Tawi. It attracted active involvement from golf enthusiasts across various age groups.
A total of 76 golfers, comprising both club members and specially invited participants, participated in the distinctive format wherein each hole was designated as a Par 3, with players restricted to using only three clubs, one of which had to be a putter.
Reflecting his enthusiasm for the tournament's success, Manav Gupta (JKAS), Secretary of Jammu Tawi Golf Club he remarked, “We anticipated that our members would be enthusiastic about this format, and the rapid booking of all spots within just two days underscores its popularity. At the conclusion of the tournament, the award ceremony celebrated the victors, where Dr. Anil Slathia emerged as the champion and Dr. Omair Nisar Ganai secured second place. There was also great enthusiasm during the 'Nearest to the Hole' competitions, which added more thrill to the event. These were claimed by Bakhtawar Khan and DR. Kumail Murtaza respectively.
The celebrations concluded with a captivating Sufi qawwali performance by artists from Punjab, enhancing the event's festive atmosphere. Ensuring fair play throughout the tournament was former professional golfer and trainer, Tavleen Batra, who officiated as the tournament referee.
